New Medical Centre for Boddington
The Shire of Boddington has welcomed funding from the State Government Boddington Social Infrastructure fund through the Peel Development Commission for the construction of a new medical centre in Boddington. The new medical centre will be located next to the existing Hospital and the proposed Retirement Village. The medical centre is currently in construction stage but when complete in August 2010, will provide services for two doctors, community nurse and visiting health professionals such as chiropractor, physiotherapist and podiatrist. A day care centre for Home and Community Care clients will be included.
Boddington welcomes the construction of the Childcare Centre
Provision of childcare facilities is seen as vital to the wellbeing of young families choosing to live in the area. Through the Peel Development Commission, State Government funding of $322,385 has been allocated towards provision of a community Long Day Care Centre for children. In addition, Newmont Boddington Gold Mine has provided two parcels of land valued at $310,000 to the Shire of Boddington and BHP Worsley Alumina have also contributed $40,000 to the project. Construction for the Child Care Centre is due for completion in August 2010.
